Qox Populi . october edition

October 24 . October 30th

Welcome to GuyTVBlog.com's newest edition to the post family, Qox Populi! Isn't it great to learn a new pop culture phrase? This creation was ripped from the MSN Encarta Dictionary's word, Vox Populi, which means "popular public opinion" or "voice of the people". Well I decided to turn the word queer [like i do most things! wink] by making you, the reader, pronance the word as "cox poppye lee". It's fun to talk dirty, teach your friends.

This is how Qox Populi will work. The post, dated every sunday, will remain on top of all posts during the week. After I watch a show or experience something pop culture related on tv, I will post about it under each month's weekly Qox Populi. Just visit GuyTVBlog.com all week to see how it works.

But Qox Populi won't officially start until November 14th 2005 so you'll have to return then to see it really in motion. Why the late start? One, I'm going on vacation during halloween. And two, I've got another website debut. Magmozine, on 11.15.05! In the meantime, here's a taste of what these series of posts will look like. Hot fotos, queer writing & Mr. GuyTVBlog's vicious opinion that matters.

Desperate Housewives . What the fuck is up with season 2? I know other websites have long started trashing this current season but I gave the show some time to work out their... problems. After watching sunday's newest episode, "They Asked Me Why I Believe in You", I have come to realize that I feel like an idiot telling friends & family "You've got to be watching Desperate Housewives, It's the best show on television". Damn the direction the creators sent this show into.

Okay, first off I hated how they ended Jesse Metcalfe's character, John. I'm glad they didn't kill him off but I hated how he started fucking some other older woman and THEN telling Eva Longoria's character, Gabrielle, that he already loved this other woman! I mean the episode started with John and his luscious man boobs in Gabrielle's bedroom to which she kicked him out- Remember, later in that same episode he's telling Gabrielle that he's already in love with some other older pussy! It was just fucked up and insane. I hate when the word "love" is tossed around like this on tv.

I would have liked to see Jesse's character move up from mowing lawns to working a desk job. I would have been fine with him fucking the older female boss but never using the word "love". I spit on those gay writers who let this happen to Jesse!

Next, Alfre Woodard & Mehcad Brooks' storyline involving the man chained up in the basement and it's revelation was just too soon, too stupid. This secret should have lasted the entire season and they should have shown that there are 2 people in the basement. Thanks to last night's episode we found out the truth. The guy is a "slow" person [maybe her son] who killed some white girl and she's hiding him from the police. Now when someone else is wrongfully accused, Alfre's character writes a letter to the police saying they have the wrong guy!!!

Why lock someone up to then say he has to pay for what he did? And why isn't Mehcad shown any sexual interest in the female ladies in the neighborhood. Remember when he met Teri's character, he didn't do anything sexual towards her but seemed to love the car Susan's Ex drove. I'm hoping Mehcad will be Bree's queer son's new lover! And then shock the audience when Mehcad's character turns out to be bisexual. Playing on the downlow...

I am very happy the whole Gilmore Girls' ripoff is dying down with Susan and her daughter. James Denton, the plumber, isn't all that hot on tv but very visually hot in person- Yes, there is a difference! The only man that gets me fully erect is Susan's Ex played by Richard Burgi. He's this week's QP cover boy. I love his brute personality and rugged body.

I hate Bree's storyline about her dead husband and his murder. I'm still waiting for Doug Savant's jaw dropping secret to be unleashed... or have they just scrapped this shocker all together? Some know what I'm talking about. Let's just say I'm waiting for that knock on the door and his reaction to... Her!

Adrian Pasdar's character as Gabrielle's new lawyer is interesting but won't last too long thanks to him putting her in front of harm's way when a courtroom shooter well shots at them. That should just kill any hopes for any kind of relationship. And where's the FUCKING lesbians? I want a lesbian couple with a baby to move into the block. Not a gay couple, a LESBIAN marriage with a talking tyke.

Mr. GuyTVBlog will still watch Desperate Housiwives but I'm not enjoying it! This has been my Qox Populi, popular queer public opinion. Thanks for reading. Comment away all week.

Even on TiVo there were more ad breaks then story time. It seems, to me, that the writers have been forced into writing shorter scenes and therfore the outcome is truncated. For instance Paul Young and the mail.

One the other hand Uncle Z and Prince W have been enjoying Grey's Anatomy. Last evening was quite good ~ but I do see trouble ahead with the writing.

Miss us some Weeds.

Hate to have to wait until Nov. 1st for a new Rome.

Thank God for Larry David.

Without 'fessing up to a full blown shark jumpTM, I have to say concur that the DH has grown even more incredible with its storylines. But everyone's saying "It's like a soap opera now" when it was like a soap opera from the beginning, wasn't it? Wasn't that what we liked? The whole tongue-in-cheek, over-the-top dramedy [dramady?] thing.

But I must disagree about Denton's lack of sex appeal on the small screen. He's the only one that makes me weak at the knees. Just something about him. Sigh. I feel like a little schoolgirl.
