Qox Populi . 11.29-12.05.05
Welcome to GuyTVBlog.com's newest edition to the post family, Qox Populi! Isn't it great to learn a new pop culture phrase? This creation was ripped from the MSN Encarta Dictionary's word, Vox Populi, which means "popular public opinion" or "voice of the people". Well I decided to turn the word queer [like i do most things! wink] by making you, the reader, pronance the word as "cox poppye lee". It's fun to talk dirty, teach your friends.
This is how Qox Populi will work. The post, dated every tuesday, will remain on on the front page during the week. After I watch a show or experience something pop culture related on tv, I will post about it under each month's weekly Qox Populi. Just visit GuyTVBlog.com all week to see how it works.
HBO's Rome . It turns out Rome is going to be another Sopranos. We'll have to wait until March 2007 for the next season of Rome to premiere thanks to the show's monster budget and production costs. The first season cost a reported 100 million dollars and season two's projected numbers is making HBO's chairman Chris Albrecht shit green bricks. Since HBO features full frontal nudity, here is a shot of some guy's package for those curious about the show's content. I wonder how the casting process went for this role...
Extreme Hunkover . Tuning in this past Sunday I saw one muscled and very sweaty man on the job site of ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition set. For a second, I thought Tom Cruise was there, but it turns out that its their newest beefcake designer, Daniel Kucan. Now he looked familiar and my queer brain started pumping information in my head. I saw a circuit party & L.A. and remembering wasting 2 hours and 10 minutes of my life- and then it hit me. Daniel played Tad in 2001's Circuit [directed by Dirk Shafer]. His role called for him to play gay and he did very well now that I think about it but sorry guys, his official bio says he's got a yucky girlfriend. Funny thing is... there's no mention of his queer acting experience in his bio.

The Apprentice: Donald . Okay. Here we go. I've gone ahead and finished the show for you. This fourth season of Apprentice has been very new to us. In one episode he fired 2 people, in another episode he fired 4 people and then he cut the final 4 into 2 by firing one team. The last 2 candidates left are Rebecca & Randal. What I originally thought to be one winner will be 2! That's right, you read me correctly!
I believe that the finale will play out as Donald Trump favors both candidates for various reasons with the "tough" decision of only choosing one. We, the audience, are suppose to believe he will only HIRE one when in fact he will hired both! It'll come up to that one moment where he'll say "Randal, you're hired!" and then the audience will go nuts and then Donald will look at Rebecca and say "Rebecca, you're hired!" and then the auidence will go even more nuts! I believe some will piss in their pants at the great news.
Donald knows that both Rebecca & Randal deserve to be this season's Apprentice! Also, earlier in the episode Donald always presents 2 jobs and the "one winner" usually chooses which project to take over only this time each winner will get a project. And of course Randal will the the gentleman that he is and say "Ladies, choose first". Golly, I just want to fall to my knees in devotion!
Of course, this is all assumed and i'm nearly never wrong... tune in December 15th 2005 for the live 2 hour finale! Next week's episode will be a "to be continued" type.
For Love or Queens . Catching a tivo'd episode of CBS' The King of Queens I caught another reality star attempting an acting slash cameo career. For Love or Money's fugly contestant Rachel Veltri appeared in the november sweeps episode featuring Ray Romano. She played the role of "Vanessa", a woman in a club who's boyfriend defends her- ahh who cares. She tried to act and nobody cares except for me. I love it when reality stars get their one line on a hit tv show. It says they've made it!
Oprah's Answer . On Tuesday's episode of Oprah, Jamie Foxx stopped by to whore his new album to Oprah's followers. Midway through the show, Oprah asks Jamie "Do you think you'll ever settle down and get married?" Jamie looks away with a smile and scratches his head and then looks at Oprah asking her "Do you?".
The audience immediatly reacted with an "Ohhh" followed by applause and laughter. She smiles softly shaking her head side to side, grabs Jamie's hand rubbing it and then asks "No really, Seriously, do you?" And then Jamie says the longest "no" without ever saying no.
The Biggest Loser 2 . And so someone wins. And shame on Nick, obese guys & gals are severely upset with the actual biggest "loser" of this season for quitting his weighloss after leaving the show, calling it the "worst experience of his life" and to not even show up on the reunion to get properly booed. "Boo Fuck You Hoo to Nick." And congratulations to Matt & Seth for becoming... a televised side show? Well Seth is actually pretty damn cute but Matt is just... I don't want to be near him and those eyes!

Rome rocks! Those Italians know how to throw a good production. My question is: Is the blonf kid from "Master and Commander..." going to end up being Agustis Caesar?

Fuck if I know Uncle Zoloft, I stopped watching Rome after 2 episodes and I should be watching but I keep putting it off... I'll get to it. Let's face it, we have until March 2007 until season 2 begins... I've got plenty of time! ;o)
