Qox Populi . 02.28.06-03.06.06
Welcome to GuyTVBlog.com's newest edition to the post family, Qox Populi! Isn't it great to learn a new pop culture phrase? This creation was ripped from the MSN Encarta Dictionary's word, Vox Populi, which means "popular public opinion" or "voice of the people". Well I decided to turn the word queer [like i do most things! wink] by making you, the reader, pronance the word as "cox poppye lee". It's fun to talk dirty, teach your friends.
This is how Qox Populi will work. The post, dated every tuesday, will remain on on the front page during the week. After I watch a show or experience something pop culture related on tv, I will post about it under each month's weekly Qox Populi. Just visit GuyTVBlog.com all week to see how it works.
Oscars Doesn't Choose Dick . Mr. GuyTVBlog predicts this year's winners. I can see Crash taking the top prize while Brokeback Mountain takes the Oscar for Directing & Original Song. George Clooney has to at least win one award, maybe for Best Original Screenplay while Capote win's Best Adapted Screenplay. Of course everyone thinks Joaquin Phoenix will win for Best Actor but I see another upset with Terrence Howard winning for Hustle & Flow.
I also really think Paul Giamatti will finally win a damn Oscar for this crappy role in Cinderella Man even though he deserved it for another film... Felicity Huffman will win for Best Actress while Rachel Weisz will win for Supporting Actress, I doubt we'll be surprised there. Wallace & Gromit will of course win Best Animated Film & Narnia will win for Best Makeup. Why? Because gay men made the White Queen look fantastically wicked!
Catch the Academy Awards this Sunday on ABC.
Miriam's Final Man . VH1, possibly the UK version, has aired a special that revealed the outcome to the scandelous reality show There's Something About Miriam. I have still yet to see the series and I doubt I ever will so I thought it'd be fun to find out what happened when she revealed her "secret" to the final man. Check below now for the exciting commentary conclusion!

Oscar freak here...I think the big upset will be Jake G...he won over in England (to my surprise) and all along, I thought he did the better job in Brokeback...Paul is a good choice (I loved Cinderella Man), but dont know...Terrance would be a great upset...but what I am looking forward to is the performance of the nominated song from Hustle and Flow in front of all this Black Tie guest...hmmm...also Dolly will perform...and I hope she wins...okay I am rambling...awesome blog...

Ummm... are those Oscar pics a joke? Brokeback Mountain isn't even nominated for best song. Nobody thinks Joaquin will win for Best Actor (Everybody knows Philip Seymour Hoffman will win). George Clooney will win Supporting and Reese Witherspoon will win Best Actress.
If these were jokes then it was kind of funny, but if they were serious you are way off.

Well Mr. Jeremy...
It pretty much doesn't matter who wins what award. Yeah I had fun with the nominations, so laugh [at me] 'till you choke.
No seriously... focus now jeremy... look at your screen. concentrate. Brokeback Mountain will lose the top award.
One could say that Brokeback Mountain deserves the Best Picture prize if it had been the best of the year. In my opinion it was not the best picture of the year. The director deserves his directiong award but the film does not deserve the best picture prize.
Yes it was a film that caused great change in our society and gave birth to far too many useless video parodies but I believe Crash or Capote will take the top prize because of what these cinematic art forms are and not for the pop culture world they created.
I also believe this year will be the year of upsets. A predictable award show is just a waste of time. And yes, I'll still watch the waste time just so I can bitch and moan the day after.
It's so funny for us to say who will win and say "everybody knows" because we don't. Only Oscar knows. Are you fuckin' him? His is cum really pure gold?
