Lost . Season 3's Ingenious Cast Theory?

Wow. First I was fucking pissed that Taylor "Stevie Wonder rip off" Hicks won American Idol and I'm pissed that Harold took the Top Chef prize away from Tiffani who should have fucking won despite her strong will to win that traslanted to wonderfully bitchy antics. Fuck TV last night... but then... LOST was ending its season with its own big 2 hour finale. And so I watched, finished the show around midnight.
I literally sat speechless when the LOST finale ended. I could not believe how well crafted this show could possibly be. I'm not talking about plot twists and why the fucking plane crashed but how Lost will re-invent itself as the best damn show next season...
Now of course none of this is confirmed but here me out. The finale ended with...
Wait, I realize at least a handful of you still have not seen the finale so please take this chance to scroll down to another non-related post about LOST.
Last warning...
Okay, the finale left off with the hatch numbers reaching zero and this electromagnetic event happening with Mr. Ecko, Locke & Desmond still inside the hatch that we are led to believe exploded thus killing off 3 main characters. How do we know it blew up? The hatch door Mr. Ecko passed on his way to get the dynomite came crashing down to the beach after the bright light flooded the island. Charlie somehow escaped before anything happened to him thus allowing this hobbit to make it to season 3.
Now on the other side of the island we have Sayid, Sun & Jin at the fake decoy beach where "the others" where suppose to be. Not even Sayid saw this twist coming and was himself stunned to find the fake decoy beach was... well, fake. So Sayid, Sun & Jin make it to season 3, or so we are led to believe.

Now past the four toed foot statue and further down the shoreline across the island we have Hurley, Jack, Sawyer & Kate captured by what we are still led to believe are "the others". My off the wall theory is the island still inhabitants the true "others" somewhere and I'm betting that even these fake "others" are scared of them... but forgive me for rambling yet another LOST theory.
So anyways, Hurley is let go to survive into the next season but Jack, Sawyer & Kate are captured and told they will be going "home" with these fake "others". Now since trader Michael delivered the main characters of the show to the fake "others" he is rewarded with Walt and given a boat to leave the island with his son.
So with all this said, LOST is quite possibly mutha fucking bold enough to get rid of most of their main characters: Locke, Jack, Sawyer, Kate, Michael, Walt, Desmond & Mr. Ecko to then replace them with new characters from the crash that will step forward to embrace all new mysteries of the island.
Michael and his son Walt could or could not return next season. I personally believe the escape boat was a trick and both Michael & Walt aren't going anywhere, I mean why would these fake "others" give up Walt after taking endless tests and knowing he's "special", I mean why the fuck would they just let him go? Come the fuck on, these fake "others" haved killed, kidnapped & lied to the plane crash victims for 2 seasons so I believe Michael & Walt are leaving the island.

So imagine next season with all new characters stepping forward because all of their fearless leaders and/or "go to" people are gone from their beachside existance. What will these new main characters do next? Who will be the next one to step forward to replace Jack's role? Kate's role? Sawyer's asshole role? What new discoveries will they all find that will fucking dwarf the first 2 season's mysteries? I'm still floored at this very possible theory of mine.
I just fucking can't wait until next season. Imagine, an all new cast mixed with some regulars such as Claire, Charlie, Hurley, Sayid, Jin & Sun. Imagine all new dreadful back stories for all new main characters because let's face it, our possibly kidnapped or feared dead main characters have had their back stories told as much as they can.
And then as we watch season 3 we'll be intrigued with all new character stories but I'm assuming we'll eventually get a dose of the missing main characters returning here and there throughout the season. It's all very dramatic and damn good TV. My mind is fucking blown.
And fuck, I almost forgot. We finally know that the island is not a realm between heaven or hell or some place in another dimension because we finally got to see the outside world that detected the electromagnatic explosion that is supposely the real reason as to why the plane crashed. What a final blow to the many other looney theories of LOST fans.
Remember, ABC is planning to air LOST season 3 chunks with no repeats at a time so catch up this summer on season one & two because season 3 will be a tough to follow for those trying to catch up.
I bow to LOST. I bend over to LOST. Thank you for an amazing 2 seasons and making TV not a complete waste of time. Wow.

oh man, i totally feel your enthusiasm.. this finale brought so many things to fantastic closure..
though i don't think we will see a major cast turnaround. the choice to focus the episode on desmond seems to be setting him up as a major character next year, along with his girlfriend, who we may be following in her off-island quest to find him.
details of what happened at the hatch after the key was turned are too vague to draw any conclusions about.. all we know is that the door blew off with enough force to land on the beach. it's entirely possible that locke, eko, and desmond are still alive.
i think we can look forward to walt's flashback next season.. and i think we can bet that michael and walt will run into sayid on the boat.. and sayid won't be so willing to let michael just drive off into the sunset.
i'm also betting we'll get an episode like 'the other 48 days later' which shows us the entire backstory of the others.. plus we'll likely be getting an alex/rosseau reunion.

Damn, you so fuckin right. I just wanted LOST to do season 3 outside of the format box of recurring cast members and take a dramatic risk that no other show has taken, or none that I can recall.
Season 3 is left open to endless, and I mean fuckin endless possibilities. I've heard the show will go on for 6 years, each TV year representing a month on the island, if this is true then we have 4 more years of LOST mysteries.
Thanks for reading Joe.

Oy ~ I'm such a fool. I just added up the code numbers and they equal 108. Duh.

Mr. GuyTVBLog: Oh, kitten. You're gonna tell me that not only did you watch Idol instead of Lost but you then watched effin Top Chef? Priorities, kitten. Priorities.
I thought the Lost finale was fuck-me-raw fantastic. Gigantic writeup over on my own blog so I won't bore y'all here. But, I don't think Jack, Sawyer, and Kate are leaving the cast. It's a lot more likely that the Others are gonna be taking a more central role in the storyline. Walt and Michael might not be back though.
I do, like you, think that killing off your major characters is a wonderful and ballsy move. Perhaps Locke? I just think it would be sooooo ballsy to kill off Locke A) right after he learned the button did do something and B) while we still don't know why he was in a wheelchair and that his father was the original Sawyer [one of my pet theories].
Joe: That idea about Sayid running into Michael and Walt at sea... Brilliant!

i totally agree that lost is one of the only shows ballsy enough to kill off most of the major cast..
but part of the genius of the show is that, as with libby, even after a character is 'dead' they can still be on the show! it's totally possible we will see flashbacks involving libby as recent as when she's on the island..
i think the only other examples of similar ballsyness in tv storytelling would be when most of 'the practice' cast was replaced (though it seemed to be out of gimmicky desperation rather than ballsyness), and in the season 2 finale of battlestar galactica in which (SPOILER!!) the story was suddenly advanced one full year, the basic situation was dramatically altered, and core relationships between the characters redefined.. talk about a cliffhanger!
also, jamie bamber who plays apollo really really needs to be featured on your website, if you haven't already..

Hey RSL, you have to understand that I can not stand commercials on the tele. I can not fucking stand commercials on any show. It's one of the reasons why I love to watch QVC shows like the one I'm watching now entitled Summertime because there's no commercials. None.
So shows like LOST i'll watch at a later time so that I can fast forward everything.
Plus I was house hopping running errands and when I got home decided to watch Top Chef, you know i even dreamed that Tiffani still won after they told Harold they made a mistake... FUCKING LOL.
As for your site RSL, it's a big ol' mind fuck of reading entertainment. I feel not so s-a-m-r-t reading it. ;o)
hey joe, thanks for the nod to Jamie from BSG but I believe other gay blogs have covered him so much that I'd just be posting "used" content. I did try to look for that fan art of Mr. Jamie but could not find art I thought was good enough for my readers.
Thank you everyone for taking the interest in writing down your own thoughts and theories and information regarding LOST under this post. ;o)
Feel free to write more!

Hi i must agree the season 2 finale was awsome.. have watched it again & again..a couple of questions though just to get you lot thinking:
1: the map that the guy in the hatch & the guy before him(who blew his brains out)where drawing, one of them must be part of the dharma thing cause how did they know where the PEARL station was and the other hatchesto draw them.?
2: did any body else spot the `ESCAPE HATCH` in the meternity episode.& why havent Jack and the other survivors gone back to investigate further.lets face it there was lots there ie fake beards and stuff..
3: when the 2 guys in the arctic station that rang PEN.they where playing Chess and correct me if i`m wrong but did one say something about a rock relating to one of the pieces on the chess board and was that person playing black`**BLACK ROCK`

Great things to come in season 3!
I've been watching the first seaon on dvd, and you know , there's something about the spanish comic book you folks should take a look at. You remember the one Hurley was reading on the plane, and the one Walt found on the beach? Well, not only did the comic book show the bird we think Walt made appear out of his will AND the polar bear we saw Sawyer kill, it showed the ISLAND as well!!
OR
What the island COULD be. I froze the frame and zoomed in on the page. Here's a description of what I saw.
It's the arctic circle (south pole I guess since the plane left from Sydney) and in its midst is this island, tropical! sheltered by a "bubble"
Could this be our heroes Island? Could this Island have some type of an electromagnetic protection, like our own earths protection? And it's so unique that it renders the island invisible to radar or the human eyes! Making it unchartable? That would explain a few things. First, the timer. the electromagnetic field is so powerful, that if it doesnt get a "release" every 108 minutes, it overloads like a geyser.(I'd like to open up the idea that the earth has other places like our LOST island ,like the Bermuda triangle could be a place housing an electromagnetic anomaly underwater there!!!) the countdown is like a safety valve.
Second, the polar bear and arctic animal weather adaptation tests ,as mentioned in the hanso foundation site. Being THERE is the best way to try these tests, no???
third, the 2 europeens at the end of the season 2 finale look like they are either doing research in Syberia OR in the poles. I cant make out the accents, but dont let the "russian" fool you, I think they're in the south pole region.
My theory about the statue, and the REAL others.
The 4 toed statue...You folks really think it's a mistake it has only 4 toes? I think it's a statue of the first people who discovered the island. THE Others.(Maybe when we get to the UNDERWATER HATCH (yes, the one the beach cable leads too)we will see that they were using THAT hatch to study the fallen staue and the aquatic behavior and botany around it.) Not Zeke, or miss klu or Henry G. I think that the Others that stalk have 4 toes too. And I think they come from another planet and star system, relatively similar to ours.(Thats why the HUMANS are in the HATCHES 40 FEET BELOW and had SHITLOADS OF GUNS AND AMMO, AND THE ANTIBIOTIC SHOT FOR PROTECTION AGAINST WHAT EXACTLY?The fake others call them the HOSTILES!!!) Ok ok, I can hear you's saying no way. How do the survivor fit in that etc...??? Think of it as the OTHERS flashbacks, nothing to do with the survivors at all. I think space travel, or warp space/time continuum travel is done through electromagnetic "spots" like our Islands. Imagine all planets having these anomalies. And you, with your craft/machine/window like stargate/ can tap into these as energy for propulsion? zoom in a beam from planet to planet, being pulled by the electromagnetic force? Aiming at different location for navigation? Thats what I think the statue will depict (slightly altered humanoid head and hands) and what the real OTHERS are ,are GUARDIANS of the energy source. Another type
of humanoid race that got left behind here to protect the island if someone discovered its location and energy potential? I mean come on, if it can bring down a jumbo jet in a second from 35 thousand feet, it HAS AWESOME power.
Last Thing, Adam and Eve.
I say that the original bearded guy and blond haired lady we see in the hanso org prep videos are the Adam and Eve Jack discovers in the caves.
thats it for now, whatta you's think?

locke prob isnt dead cos desmond said something along the lines of you saved my life once brothder, now its time for me to save yours.....i doubt there will be a major cast turnover although it would be kind of a cool adventorous thing to do

If you look up promos and web sites for lost season 3 you see the cast of next season. Locke, Kate, Sawyer, and Jack, are all on season 3 promos, so I dont think they were killed off, sorry. And there will be two new women to be featured, one as a lead and the other a guest in four episodes (so far) and One new spanish guy. He'l play paulo. Anyway, that what I got!

Well thanks Leah. I did write this report back in late May so I am well aware that I am wrong.
Pity party for one please, Just me.
Just watched Heroes, not an impressive show and will continue to invest all my time on LOST...

Sorry to hear Heros was a bust. I really wanted it to be good because I was hoping for another show to be hooked on.
And about the whole killing main cast members, I'm sure we'll be bidding farewell to a couple of main people this season. I'm betting Syeide or maybe hurley. I'm interested to see though how they'll pull locke and mr. eko out of the destroyed hatch alive. So many questions!
