Qox Populi . Tuesday 17th - Monday 23rd

[ Welcome to GuyTVBlog.com's 2nd season of Qox Populi! What's that you ask? Sit up way too close to your PC screen and let's learn a new pop culture phrase! This creation is created based on the term, Vox Populi, which means "popular public opinion" or "voice of the people". To give it a queer edge, as GuyTVBlog.com tends to do with TV programs, this webmaster has changed the first letter to "Q" thus making the immature side of you pronance the word as "cox poppye lee". It's fun to talk dirty, teach your friends.
This is how Qox Populi will work. Each week, on every tuesday, you'll find within these posts various news topics, rants and raves as well as my personal dislikes & highly respectable [to those of interest] opinion regarding everything that appears on your TV box. Anytime I watch a show or experience something pop culture related on tv that has a queer twist, I will post about it under each week's Qox Populi entry. Visit GuyTVBlog.com all week to see how it works. ]

Gays In Session . CBS is currently airing a new sitcom The Class that follows the lives of a group of friends who have reconnected after years of... not connecting or as CBS describes it "a comedy about a group of 20-somethings inextricably bound together by having been in the same third grade class. Two decades later, their lives intersect once again, giving them the uncommon opportunity to learn how everyone turned out and to rebuild old friendships." I couldn't have cut & pasted that description any better.
The cast includes 2 actors, Sean Maguire & Cristián de la Fuente, who play openly gay characters. Sean plays Kyle Lendo, one of the featured "Class" members and Cristián plays Kyle's gorgeous boyfriend, Aaron.
Kyle's back story is he use to date Holly, another "Class" member, and after dating her he came out as a gay man. Since then she has moved on to a new love, Perry Pearl who's played by Sam Harris who may also be another gay man ready to come out at any moment. As the saying goes... history repeats itself. If you haven't checked out Sam's official website by now, you're missing very beautiful images of the actor. He is quite the man with many talents.
In "The Class" storylines Perry is very much into everything Aaron is doing, wearing and saying. This is because Holly has reconnected with Kyle and basically using him to get her daughter, Oprah, into a presique school that Kyle teaches at. This week's episode has Kyle revealing to Holly that he lied to her about getting Oprah in thus causing Perry to storm over to Kyle's apartment where he mentions something about "repressing" certain things. Audience laughs and later Oprah gets into Kyle's 1st grade class. Everyone's happy.
As for Perry... He'll be coming out at some point during some season finale, that is if the show lasts that long.
The show has me hooked because of these gay characters and the queer storyline twist involving Perry but the overall cast just doesn't have me. I don't see this show lasting a full season and can see a cancellation approaching in the coming weeks, maybe months.
The show needs you, the queer viewer, to tune in to check out The Class. If the show's numbers increase then this season's only male lead gay character can continue to grow into something greater for us to enjoy Monday nights.

I forgot to mention that The Class went as far to show both Kyle & Aaron in bed together, of course not touching each other but I believe shirtless and getting ready to turn in for the night. Bold move for a season premiere on CBS.
After visiting CBS' official website for The Class I found it very difficult to watch past episodes of the series. I was under the impression new viewers could view full episodes online to catch up with next week's newest episode. Maybe they only play the most recent episode. That's not a great way to get viewers "hooked".
Executive Producers/Co-Creators David Crane & Jeffrey Klarik compare the series large cast to that of a reality show because we seem to have no trouble following a large cast of "characters" each week on shows such as Survivor. This comedic show now takes the chance this season by presenting a cast of 12 characters that all just happen to be "attractive"... says the creators. It just happened to take 6 months to find the right actors who just seemed to look damn good on your tele box.
The Class airs Mondays at 8:30 pm ET/PT on CBS. Tune in.
Damn it, I just found out Cristián de la Fuente is married.. to a woman! Sean Maquire is also straight. Sorry to destory the illusion that they could be gay but they ain't. They are actors so I still believe they're gay... on the tele box. As for Sam, he's openly gay. Yeah!

Score 1 For The Straights . On ABC's The View, Dancing with the Stars co-host Tom Bergeron finally revealed if Mario & Willa Ford are in relationships with their dancing partners. "They will deny it... [blows a raspberry] Of course they are!" Everyone on stage goes nuts to this news and then Tom continues with "You think I just show up Tuesday nights? I hear things. I see things." Everyone laughs as the audience starts making love with each other. Okay, the last part didn't happen but anything Mario does has that effect on people.
So there you have it. Mario is officially with the STRAIGHTS! This week at least. I have said it before, these two do make a great couple and I look forward to their sex tape due out during the holiday season. I hear Mario humps like a jack rabbit- but to add Kathy's sacred word "ALLEGEDLY!"

Queen E . The "Drama Queen" Erica returns to The Bachelor: Rome next Monday after she was eliminated this week for being too "polar" when it came to having 2 sides to her personality. Now she returns draped in expensive pink crap to the mansion where she somehow pits the women left in the show against each other.
Why didn't Erica apply for Flavor of Love during season one so that she could go up against New York. I'm just a wishin' and a hopin' and a prayin' these 2 Reality Queens come together somehow on TV. Can New York please show up on the Bachelor: Rome reunion just for the fuck of it?
Update: The promos are already airing for the next Bachelor episode and it shows the women going nuts on it. Tune the fuck in!
Also, "Ron Patrick" over at Our Daily Ripa contacted me to let me know that this quote from Queen Bitch Erica was sooo damn good that even Kelly Ripa quoted it word for word on her show. The video titled "part 3" can be found here. Thanks Ron!

Flavor of Bitch . It comes to no surprise... AT ALL, that New York aka Tiffany was not chosen by that old rapper this past Sunday. So what does VH1 do to cheer up Tiffany and her TV hungry mother? They give them a show!
Ever since I heard of a spin off to happen with one of the women not chosen by Flava Flav well I just knew that only ONE woman could do this show. It had to be New York. I almost feel that they offered her the show before Flava Flav made his final decision. I also feel the ending blowout between New York and Flav was staged because she later got into her limo and talked about finding her own man... hint hint, her own show. Reality TV ain't real no mo'.
For us to believe that New York had a chance the second time around is just Krazy! Speaking of Krazy, that fake ass TV cunt returns in 2 weeks to VH1, not singing, but appearing along with the rest of the ladies for another explosive reunion show! New York gets a shoe thrown at her by BuckWild and someone runs up onto the stage past security guards... I'm guessing at New York. And Goldie from season one joins the reunion to call out everyone.
I almost forgot! The best part was a glimpse of Delicious being held back yelling at New York "Bitch we'll see you at the parking lot!". Thank you TV Gods for this!
Somethin's shit will hit the fan Sunday, October 29th! Don't miss it! One hour Reunion Special! And if you check out VH1's The V Spot you'll get more exclusive diva drama at the lingerie shoot within Episode 10's Extras & Sexy Outtakes.
Batista's Sweat . Why aren't you watching Batista on Smackdown? I mean you can Tivo it or retro record it on tape and then fast forward to the part with Batista. You've got the time to tug on your Johnson while you watch Batista sweat and man handle other wreslters on the CW's Smackdown Friday nights. Thanks WWE!

The Nightmare Before Christmas gets a 3D effect starting this Friday October 20th. But only through DVD can you get a worldwide musical experience. The Disney Digital 3D event will be in theatres for a select number of weeks while buzz has already started on the new soundtrack featuring Marliyn Manson & Fiona Apple, among others, who sing the classic tracks with their own talented twist. Expect to see a new music video somewhere at some point to promote the soundtrack.
My favorite TNBC track by far is Sally's Song. To hear the song get a dead breathe of fresh air then check out TNBC's MySpace profile. Also check out Sally's Song in Italian. Wait, I just found the Japanese version of This Is Halloween & Jack's Lament in French!
