GuyTVBlog.com's GayDar Points Shane Out

"Are You Gay?"

That is the question posed to Shane repeatedly in an online video from the Real Kids of Orange County series and also asked during the newest episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County. First off let's give a big round of applause and a standing ovation to Bravo for introducing us to Shane, the 20 year old baseball player son to Housewife Jeana. He is currently capturing the vulnerable hearts of women and guys everywhere, even though his little brother thinks he's the biggest asshole... ever.

In last night's episode Shane is asked by Jo, the youngest almost housewife of the series, to go out with her and her friends aka "girls night out". You see Jo is in a relationship with ex-model Slade who has been lying to her about another Housewife thus causing Jo to seek "fun" in other places aka Shane.

Last season on the series Jo and Shane created a friendship that led Slade to form some jealousy issues towards the pair. This new season Shane is back to his ol' tricks at trying to play with the possibility of having "fun" with Jo.

Now since Slade is out of town this episode Jo decides to get some advice from Shane's mother, Jeana. After a advice dinner at Jeana's house Jo suddenly gets some playful attention from Shane. Later inside Jo finds out that Shane is suppose to go to San Diego to meet a "friend". They joke about the "friend" he's suppose to met and he never, at least on camera, admits that it's a female friend.

Next Jo informs Shane that she is trying to invite him to go out with her and her gal pals for "girls night out". Shane laughs and asks "Are you trying to call me Gay again" to which Jo reacts like a smitten little girl always telling Shane to "shut up". So Shane is repeatedly implied by Jo as a Gay man.

I forgot to mention that this episode features Shane's new earings on both ears. He's getting alot of gay comments his way because of his choice to put earings in his ears. He ain't "gangsta" as his friends and family think, he's just displaying a need for jewelry.

Much later in the episode Shane gets dressed up and goes out with Jo and her gal pals to some bar. Even the girls are confused as to why Shane is joining them when one of the friends asks Jo "I thought it was girls night".

Slade is then shown on camera talking about how Jo going out with Shane is "inappropiate and disrespectful". Damn right, start dating someone else already!

Back at the girls night out club Shane is taking pictures with the girls and is asked by one of the girls about his intentions towards Jo. He says "I think it's a better question to ask her". What a major cop out! That's a sign of closeted gay male behaviour, in my opinion.

Anyways, later Jo and Slade talk some issues out and I all I could care about is Shane's whereabouts. Give the kid a series. People will watch. I mean if MTV can create a spin off series The Hills then Bravo can create a spin off series featuring Shane called The Closet.

After watching the online web episode featuring Shane we find out at "girls night out" one of Jo's friends informs Shane that he'd be "gay" if he did it on "just one side". Jo suddenly screams out "Don't be gay Shane. Don't be gay... Are you Gay?" Of course there is no footage of Shane saying that he isn't gay. He just toys around the idea that people think he's gay.

In the next scene Shane is out with the Housewives and his uncle at some eatery setting. His earrings and sexuality are the hot topic again. One girls asks that if he has 2 earrings then does it mean that you're not gay to which Shane responds "I have no idea". So then another Housewife asks quick as a whip "So you'll do both ways?" to which Shane responds with... a laugh and no response of denying that he's gay. Well he mutters something but I can't understand it.

Shane and his friends start informing Jo that it is a "hip hop" thing. We also find out that Shane's sister calls him "gay" for just wearing the earrings. She actually says "What if you're so gay" to which Shane responds by repeating her words in a questionable manner "I'm so gay?" Shane also informs us that his mom has started buying him earrings and she doesn't care so much buying them for him.

So... the question still remains. Is he gay? If Shane does turn out to be gay then Jo is going to get it endlessly from Slade. That'll be funny to watch in a future season episode.

Next week Shane flys in a girl "friend" from Canada to his home and she's quite the looker. And his mother Jeana is talking up a storm how Shane has to bring in girls from Canda because- oh fuck she just implies he's straight. We'll see... we'll see.
