Broadway Shows Still On For Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!

Ohhh I can't wait for more Broadway musical performances this Thursday! Check out this vintage 2003 performance of Wicked featuring the original cast members Kristen Chenoweth and Idina Menzel. This year Mary Poppins' musical has a spot and Micoofy.com can't wait for that performance!

Update: Nikki Blonsky and the Hairspray dancers will be performing "You Can't Stop The Beat" on this year's parade! I guess Zac Efron is just far too important to do this musical engagement as well. He also didn't appear with the High School Musical 2 cast at Disneyland because he's just too important of a person to be seen with such TV star aktours.

2nd Update: For those worried about the Broadway strike going on at this moment, the musical performances will NOT be effected for the live broadcast. "Xanadu" and "Legally Blonde" will also have a spot in the parade, among others.

3rd Update: Michael Feinstein wrote a song where 600 children will dance and perform during the opening of this year's parade. The song is called "Making Magic" and the kids are from Camp Broadway.

4th Update: Playbill reports "Also of interest to theatre fans: Spring Awakening's Lea Michele and Jonathan Groff will belt out "Give My Regards to Broadway" atop the M&M's Chocolate Candies on Broadway float. That theatre-themed float will feature the chocolate-covered characters taking lead roles in Broadway productions: Green as Elphaba in Wicked, Orange and Yellow in A Chorus Line, Blue as The Phantom of the Opera and Red crowned as Spamalot's King Arthur." Wow! I can't wait.

Playbill also reports that "The original Christine Daae in London and Broadway's Phantom, Sarah Brightman, will be dressed as a Pirate Queen and will sing "The Journey Home" on the Jolly Polly Pirate Ship; "Hairspray" film star Nikki Blonsky will perform "You Can't Stop the Beat" on the American Classic Malt Shop float; and Feinstein and Tony winner Anika Noni Rose will perform another Feinstein-Schermerhorn song, "Give Me the Key to This Wonderful City," aboard the History Channel's New York Tin Toy float." Yeah!
